SC DEFENCE
Cookie and Similar Technologies Policy
Review the browser records we use, their retention periods and the effects of your cookie choices.
1. Purpose and scope
1.1. This Policy governs cookies and similar browser storage operations, retention periods and visitor choices on scdefence.com, operated by SC Savunma Sanayi ve Ticaret Anonim Şirketi. It should be read together with the Website Visitor Privacy Notice, document SC-KVKK-WEB-01.
1.2. This Policy concerns only the public website. It does not govern all of the Company's commercial, human resources or classified-project records. Contact with the data controller and applications under the Law may be made via info@scdefence.com; written applications may be sent to Etiler Mh. 829 Sk. A Plaza No:3/601, 07010 Muratpaşa / Antalya, Türkiye.
2. Definitions and basic principles
2.1. A cookie is a small record stored by a browser that can be transmitted with HTTP requests within its scope. localStorage and sessionStorage are browser storage areas that may serve similar purposes; they are not HTTP cookies and their contents are not automatically attached to every request.
2.2. Necessary records are limited to the requested essential service or preference management. Analytics records may measure usage; advertising/marketing records may serve separate purposes such as advertising profiling and campaign tracking. Calling a record 'necessary' does not make every form of processing lawful.
2.3. The Company applies purpose limitation, data minimisation and limited retention. It does not collect consent in advance for a purpose that does not exist, and presents privacy information separately from the explicit-consent process.
3. Records used in the current version
3.1. In this version, the website application creates no HTTP cookies. The two first-party browser records below are used. No third-party analytics, advertising, remarketing or tracking-pixel service is installed in the application.
3.2. The notice record is written only when the visitor dismisses the notice by selecting 'Necessary only'. It prevents the notice from being displayed again; it is not used as evidence of consent to optional data processing. It is not written automatically on a first visit.
3.3. The language record is written only when the visitor selects a language. The website application does not transmit these records to a server or third party. They are not combined for other purposes or used to profile visitors.
3.4. Any server-side cookies used by the hosting service will be inventoried separately according to the actual configuration of the service being deployed. A cookie or tracking service not listed here will not be enabled before the privacy information and required choice mechanism are complete.
| Record and provider | Contents and purpose | Period / legal ground |
|---|---|---|
| sc-privacy-notice-v2 | Company | localStorage | Version, notice dismissal and expiry times. Preventing the same notice from reappearing. | Valid for 180 days; section 4.1 applies. Article 5(2)(f) of the Law to the extent that the record constitutes personal data. |
| sc-language | Company | sessionStorage | tr/en language choice. Remembering the requested language. | Tab session; section 4.2 applies. Article 5(2)(f) of the Law to the extent that the record constitutes personal data. |
| Analytics / advertising / third-party tracking | Not used in this version. | No records or retention for these purposes. |
| Google reCAPTCHA — _GRECAPTCHA | Google may set this security cookie when repeated contact submissions require reCAPTCHA verification. The service is not loaded on a normal first visit. | Managed by Google; used only when security verification is required. See Privacy Notice section 4.2 and Google reCAPTCHA information. |
4. Retention and deletion rules
4.1. The notice record is valid for 180 days from dismissal. Ordinary visits do not extend this period. An expired record is deleted the next time the website code runs and the notice reappears. If the website is not opened again, the physical localStorage record may remain on the device; it can be removed by clearing site data in the browser. The 180-day period is not a general period mandated by the Law for all cookies.
4.2. The language record is retained when pages are refreshed or navigated within the same tab. It is normally cleared when the tab session ends. Browser session restoration may bring the record back; therefore a strict hourly limit is not promised across all browsers.
4.3. The panel's 'Clear saved notice dismissal' option removes the notice record. All records, including the language choice, can be deleted by clearing site data in browser settings. If browser storage is blocked, the website remains viewable but preferences may not be remembered.
4.4. Server access/error records and sent emails are not cookies. They are subject to the separate periods in section 5 of SC-KVKK-WEB-01; clearing a cookie preference does not automatically delete these records. Data subject rights remain reserved.
5. Effect of choosing Necessary only
5.1. Selecting 'Necessary only' enables no analytics or advertising service. It closes the notice and writes the 180-day notice record. A separate language choice made by the user is remembered for the tab session.
5.2. Necessary processing is not treated as if explicit consent had been obtained; it remains limited to the disclosed purposes and legal grounds. Not making this choice does not prevent browsing. Leaving the notice open or taking no action does not constitute consent.
6. Effect of choosing Accept all cookies
6.1. This version has no optional cookie service requiring consent. The 'Accept all cookies' button is therefore disabled and a nearby explanation states that no additional cookies are used. No processing permission is recorded through this button and no advance consent is collected for future services.
6.2. If a consent-based service is added later, 'Accept all cookies' will apply only to the purposes, categories, providers and retention periods individually disclosed in the current panel. The action means explicit consent to those specific optional purposes; it does not cover undisclosed purposes or services introduced in later versions.
6.3. 'Accept all cookies' cannot be interpreted as accepting the Law in its entirety, approving the Privacy Notice, waiving personal data rights, permitting marketing emails or authorising unlimited international transfers. Valid consent concerns only the specified processing activity.
6.4. If a future version uses consent-based services, acceptance, refusal and category choices will be presented clearly with equivalent access. Optional switches will not be preselected; refusal will not block website access. The relevant script or third-party request will not start before consent is given.
7. Changing preferences and withdrawing consent
7.1. The cookie panel can be reopened using the persistent 'Cookie Settings' control on the pages or the cookie-preferences button on the privacy pages. The Privacy Notice and Cookie Policy are accessible through links in the panel. PDF downloads will be enabled after the Company's document approval and publication authorisation.
7.2. In the current version there is no analytics or advertising consent to withdraw. Deleting the notice record is not withdrawal of consent; it simply causes the notice to appear again.
7.3. If optional services are introduced later, consent can be withdrawn in the same panel by choosing 'Necessary only' or switching off a category. Subsequent consent-based processing will stop and relevant records under the Company's control will be removed. Previous lawful processing is not affected retrospectively; statutory rights to make requests remain protected.
7.4. In a version using consent-based services, the choice, disclosed policy version and action time will be recorded. Before the service begins, the scope and separate retention period of records sufficient to demonstrate consent will be defined. The current notice record does not replace that future evidence mechanism.
8. Updates and effective date
8.1. This Policy takes effect when approved by the Company and published on the website. The current version remains continuously accessible on the website. The inventory, legal grounds, recipients and retention periods are updated before a new service or purpose is introduced.
8.2. An update does not extend past consent to a new purpose. For a new purpose requiring explicit consent, a separate choice is obtained from the user in advance. Rights under the Law and application procedures are explained in section 8 of SC-KVKK-WEB-01.
